What is the Deep Questions Club?

The Deep Questions Club is what my co-worker, Jane Pantig, and I call our Ratio Christi Campus ministries.  We meet on the Santa Monica College & UCLA campuses each week.  SMC – Wednesdays 11:30am-1:30pm and UCLA – Thursdays noon-2pm.

Below is a Day in the Life video that gives a slice of what you can expect at the Deep Questions Club.  We chat about the deep questions of life and share logic, reason, evidence, philosophy, theology, and empirical data to discover if we truly know why we believe what we believe.

The conversation is 99% friendly & we prioritize data over opinion.

We call our group the Deep Questions Club because, regardless of one’s beliefs, most people are open to chat about truth, reality, origins, purpose, meaning, evil, pain, suffering, morality, sexuality, and death.  Yes, we disagree on a regular basis, but most members of the group are kind and understanding of each other once they hear each others’ perspectives.

Ratio Christi is passionate about starting conversations with people about these deep questions of life and we believe that true, evidence based answers can be found in the reasonableness of Christ.

As a follower of Christ, I am commanded to share my faith…  I am a missionary… I am a “fisher of men,” and must draw people in to share the TRUTH.

Everyone is welcome to the group and everyone is free to share what they believe.  We have so many different types of people in the group, like Atheists, Agnostics, Buddhists, Pagans, Satanists, Jews, Muslims, Pantheists, Deists, Christians, and anything else you can imagine.  It is rare that we agree 100% on any specific question, but it is very common that we become friends and end up spending time with each other outside of the group.

Are you ready to be challenged?  Would you want to know if what you believe to be true is actually false?

Ready. Set. Question!
